Conversational Gaelic Immersion Program

We are very pleased to again be offering Conversational Gaelic Immersion this year, and to be offering a Beginner program for the first time, as well as Intermediate/Advanced!

The Beginner program is open to anyone who is not yet ready for the Intermediate/Advanced program, including those who have no prior knowledge of Gaelic at all. The Intermediate/Advanced program is designed for those who already have some background in conversational Gaelic.

Both Gaelic programs will take place June 25 –June 30. Classes start times will be announced and conclude at 12:00 on Friday afternoon. Students can attend as day students, or can board.

The Intermediate/Advanced instructor is Angus MacLeod of Cape Breton, well-known Gaelic teacher, Actor, Singer, Storyteller and Artist. The Beginner instructor is TBA – more information to follow!

Each student will have at least four hours per day of class time. Another hour per day will be spent in Gaelic singing class. Evening activities (some in English) will include piping recitals, social events, and art classes. The evening for our excellent instructors’ recital and student ceilidh will be announced – friends and family are welcome to attend too, for a small fee.

Day students’ fees include lunch and dinner daily, while boarders’ fees also include breakfast. At least one meal per day will have a designated Gaelic table so that students can continue developing their conversational skills.

Enrolment in each section (Beginner or Intermediate/Advanced) of the program is limited to 20 people. Both programs are running and spaces are still available!

Fees are as follows:

  • Day students (includes lunch, dinner and evening programming): $500
  • Boarding students (includes all of above plus breakfast and overnight accommodation): $750 for a shared room and $950 for a single.
