Family Discount

We know piping and drumming run in families! That’s why we are offering a discount for multiple family members who wish to attend OSPD as piping or drumming students.

For families with two or more students, the second and every subsequent student will receive a 10% discount on their fees. Note that this discount applies only to family members who are students, not to family members who are accompanying a student but are not students themselves. (Not to be combined with other savings options).

Piping and Drumming Scholarships

Thanks to the generosity of one of our long-time students, we have some money available for partial scholarships for pipers and drummers. If you would like to be considered for a reduction in fees, please send us an email with the subject “Scholarship application”. In the email, please provide details of your piping or drumming experience and how you think attending the school will benefit you and your band or community, as well as details of why you are requesting financial assistance.

Please apply for a scholarship only if you really need financial help to attend the school, as our funds are limited! Deadline for applications is May 15, 2017.

Family Member Accommodation

Room and board for spouses or parents of students is available for $425 per week.

Beginners Need a Practice Chanter or Drum Sticks & Pad

Beginner pipers require a practice chanter; beginner drummers require sticks and a practice pad. Director Chris Marshall can help you select these if you don’t own them already. Practice chanters can be shipped to you, or picked up at the school. Sticks and pads will be available at the school. Please call or email Chris if you would like to discuss, at or (905) 713-4014.
